DR. STUTZ: Just tell us a little bit about your history.
IVONNE: I haven’t really had any type of investigation. I didn’t know what this was
until a couple months ago that I saw a program on the Hallmark channel, where they
were interviewing a doctor who does plastic surgery on the legs. They referenced a
Facebook page, and when I went on it, I looked at the stuff, and I was like, “Oh, I think
that’s what I have.”
I think it started around puberty because I have pictures of myself when I was fourteen
or fifteen. I found a picture of myself. You could tell that there were signs of lipedema.
My legs were large. I had a big fat pouch. I didn’t have any kids. I wasn’t sexually active,
so there was really no reason for that pouch. My top has always been smaller than my
