Here’s what you’ll need to do to get started with hosting a screening:
1) Order a license
Choose the screening license that’s best for your uses. If you own the DVD and want to screen non-professionally, you can do so for free. The options are as follows:
a. Single: Host a screening for a group of 5 or more interested people, or 10 or more professionals.
-Single with DVD ($34.95)
b. Professional: Healthcare/Education/Library License: For healthcare, schools, universities, and educators; Also for individuals who would like to host more than one screening.
-Professional with DVD ($199)
Once you have placed your order, our administration manager, Rachel, will send you a license. Please sign and return via email.
2. Receive DVD & Resources
Next, you will receive the film and screening information. If you ordered a DVD, it will arrive within the next 21 days. We will also send you a digital download in your receipt email. We will also email you other useful resources, such as the film poster file, banners for Facebook, a brochure file, and a screening pack to help you in your event.
3. Plan Your Event
It’s now time to plan your event, pick a date, and find a venue. Register your details at Submit a Screening and we will add your information to this website. We are happy to help you with your event if you would like, just email how we can help to Rachel at HostScreening@diseasetheycallfat.tv
4. Spread the Word
After you’ve planned your event, it’s time to spread the word and drum up excitement about the screening. Physical flyers, local radio or newspaper announcements, or even Facebook events are great ways to spread the word. We will list your event to our Screening Calendar.
5. Order Additional Resources if Desired
If you would like to sell The Disease They Call FAT DVDs at your event, you can order them wholesale in our film shop.
6. Send us Pictures and…
Email us a few of your favorite pictures from your event (be sure to get peoples’ permission to post) and a short write up about your event within a week or so. We will post and share for the community in the Screenings Gallery.
We hope you have a great event!
